Hon Simon Bridges

Mr Bridges entered Parliament in 2008, as Member of Parliament for Tauranga. Between 2008 and 2012 he was a member of various select committees. He first became a Minister in April 2012, when he took on the portfolios of Minister of Consumer Affairs, Associate Minister for Climate Change Issues, and Associate Minister of Transport.
He holds an LLB and is a qualified barrister and solicitor. Prior to standing for Parliament, he was a Senior Crown Prosecutor in the District and High Courts of New Zealand.
