Dr Jimmie Rodgers

Director-General, Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC)

Dr Jimmie Rodgers is currently the Director-General of the Pacific Region’s largest Scientific and Technical regional organisation, the SPC – a position he has held since January 2006.

Prior to assuming the position of Director-General, Dr Rodgers led and managed SPC’s largest regional office in Suva, Fiji, as its Senior Deputy Director General for eight years and prior to this he was based in Noumea, New Caledonia, as one of SPC’s two Deputy Directors General responsible for all SPC’s technical programmes from 1996. Dr Rodgers has been involved in regional development and regional reform initiatives since 1994.

He was closely involved in the development of the Pacific Plan and oversaw its implementation at SPC as Director General following its approval by Pacific Forum Leaders in October 2005.
