Gavin Murray is the Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands for IFC, the member of the World Bank Group focussed exclusively on private sector development.

His responsibilities include overseeing IFC’s investment and advisory programs as well as maintaining key government and private sector partners in the region.

Based in Sydney, Gavin is also IFC’s global contact point for the Australian and New Zealand governments and business community. Under Mr Murray’s leadership, IFC has increased its investment portfolio in the Pacific from $1.2 million in 2006 to total financing commitments of
more than $350 million with an outstanding investment portfolio of $244 million in 2013.

Prior to commencing in this position in February 2009, Gavin spent four years as Head of Sustainable Finance at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ).
